Turn his laugh to a frown
His smile to tears
And let him break down?

The Perfect StormHe struck like lightning,
And then I fell.
Hard. Fast. And blindly.

I didn't deserve to be alone in this
But then his thunder roared,
Sending me away.

It broke my heart as if it were made of glass.
Sending pieces of me everywhere.

And it began to pour,
Raindrops spilling from these brown eyes.

He said he could never love me.

And we turned into the perfect storm.
Turning everything in my world dark and gray.

Always to be haunted, soon to forget clear skies.

Melancholy dayWe go through life believing in people, dreams, spiritual entities (GOD), ....
they tell you, you can be anything
you can go anywhere in the world
A melancholy day

Then on day
you wake up and realize ...
This is it .

people are who they are
they'll disappoint you
behave in apathetic fashion
cowards run
A melancholy day

no one is responsible
nothing is fair
you fight for a parking spot
in the fast lane on the way to work

we race through life trying to find something.. this dream
and it's not there ?
You can work hard everyday
to watch the Bosses daughter get promoted over you

How we explored?
Without a map but instinctively knew where we were going
Eagerly moving through the curves and creases of our new world
Each step burned into our memory
How eventually we knew all those secret places
Sometimes rushing in the eager anticipation of what we knew we would find
Sometimes slowly, lingering dragging out the end result

How we still often wonder what they have done
Where they have been
So long and slender
Soothing
Instilling a passion deep within
Sometimes held tight like a trophy
Molded for only you
Remember we were worshipped

Caress
Sculpting the world around us

How can I restrain?In July, among sand castles,
Overcome by sunny daze,
How can I restrain from jumping
Into foam of turquoise waves?

As November wind is sneaking
Through the coat with long wool sleeves,
How can I restrain from diving
Into pool of amber leaves?

While the holiday December
Shoos the chill with Christmas glow,
How can I restrain from plunging
Into pile of crispy snow?

Naughty April breeze is tugging
At the skirt of floral dress;
How can I restrain from running
Through the rug of fresh-trimmed grass?

Do You Remember?I can think back so easily and smile.
I remember how much I loved you, how much I cared.

I promised to always protect you.

You were my own Cinderella.
Me, your "Prince" Charming.
Do you remember that?
Do you remember the plans we made?

How much I promised you..

To be the hand that would lift your veil on your special day..

To ride on a motorcycle, you clinging to my back.

To spend countless nights together..

To take you dancing.

All I ever wanted was to hold you close and to know that you were mine.

I remember so many wishes;

To be taller, even if I could already effortlessly tuck you under my arms.

To be better looking, just t

she believes in faries and gnomes, and i believe in you + me and everything else that might fall in between, and all he can say as he looks into her eyes and sees the reflection of the stars, is me too.

he believes because she believes, and when she smiles the stars alight with new found light, and he falls in love all over again because he can, and he will. he paints her with colours made of whispers and faith, and she's the most beautiful thing he ever laid eyes on.

Helping The Heart broken We have all been through heart breaks; some more than others. It's kinda a part of life. Going through heart breaks is some we all will or have gone through, and it is one of the worst pains on earth.

I hold your heart.

I see you nearly every day. You've been becoming less and less cheerful. Your smile has faded to an apathetic expression, a blank stare, a lost thought. I keep my mouth quiet as I whisper to you how much I still care, but it doesn't seem to effect you. You can't see through what they've said, what they think, you can't see me standing right before you. You can't even see me. Your grip on my hand loosens over time, and you seem about to release me. Your heartbeat is slower, weaker. Unwilling to continue the rhythm, you are changing the song.

crushed velvetwhen i was a child
we found a cache
of crushed velvet,
the legacy of a lady
who belonged to another century.

the velvet was all black, mourning perhaps?
for us it was an enlightening exuberance.

the vintage fabric
was spinning dreams,
like a silk worm spins the
fibers

our imaginations followed the dreams
of romance and desire.
our minds were almost free.

jenny and i stood at the wardrobe
and pulled out the
carefully wrapped
Victorian dresses,

we found beauty
in the back of a basement.

The artwork definitely compliments the poem.

It's very sweet and flows nicely. The second and third stanzas are particularly nice. Congrats on getting it published in a local newspaper!

dont know about the poem
