Two lives so apart
But I'll never forget
There's nothing more perfect
Than the day that we met.

I still feel the scars
But love you all the while

Than the way that you smile.

You blush when I'm near
But you cannot disguise

Than the glow in your eyes.

Because of your friendship
I finally see
There's nothing more perfect
Than what you did for me.

"No one deserves this
It cannot be real
The anger, distress
And depression I feel

Please give me a second
My strength just disbands
I can't live this way

What is this madness?

Fifteen years

Confusion and chaos
Surrounding the storm
Everything hopeless
Escape, nevermore.

Screeches and roaring
Erupt through the sky
The fiery columns
With nowhere to hide.

The shadowy silence
The thundering rain
The lightning that shatters
The darkness
And pain.

Brighter Than the Spotlight

The downbeat starts the show
And every time we turn a page,
You're louder than the music
For your smile fills the stage.

The melody is playing
And the beauty may befall,
You're closer than the audience
For your face can move the hall.

The song begins right now
And with the other actors gone,
You're brighter than the spotlight
For your eyes keep beaming on.

I never hear the words
Because the figure there is you...
You're stronger than the curtain
For your voice just shines right through.

What I Love

Before, I heard the rumors
Of the working in the night
But now I understand my urge
To get the answer right.

Before, I thought the people
Wouldn't dare to meet my eye,
But now with my new family
I could never say goodbye.

Before, I saw the hallways
Full of goals I could pursue,
But now my future's in my grasp-
My heart sings free and true.

Before, I felt the pressure
From successes way above,
But now I know my role in life
Is doing what I love.

I'm proud to be an outcast
But I'm proud to lead the fight
For though the dark is rising
We will always see the light.

I'm proud to lose my body
But I'm proud to lift my eyes
For though the pain is sharper
We will always break the ties.

I'm proud to sweat and suffer
But I'm proud to stand up tall
For though the others stumble
We will always break their fall.

I'm proud to watch the moonrise
But I'm proud to end the day
For though the season's over
We will always find a way.

Burning for You

I try to return what you gave me.
To sacrifice myself in your honor,
To struggle through the smoke so you can rest,
To stagger across the embers and see you on the other side,
To take the heat and shield you from the sparks,
To smolder in eternal pain so you won't have to,
To have your wildfire blazing in my eyes.
But I'm a weak, fragile flame
And I'm burning out.

Help, I'm Alive.My eyes flew open,
And right to my wrist.
To see the scars,
Where my blade had been.
But there were no scars,
Because there was no wrist.
Just empty flesh,
Hollow and Bloodless.
Does this mean I'm still alive?
Or that I died last night?
My fingers they found,
Just the right vein.
And I had a pulse,
To my dismay.
HELP!
I screamed at the top of my lungs.
But no help came,
Just my luck.
And ever since then,
Every chance I had..
Floated just out of my reach.
Like a constant race,
That I would never win.
And each night,
I relive that night over again.
Drowning in my shame.
Life is an endless game.

Too Late

You were too late
When you tried to undo
Everything that you said
After all we'd been through.

It was too late
By the time you came back,
After pushing me down
With your shocking attack.

I was too late
To hear what you said.
Now two hearts are shattered-
And inside, I'm dead.

All these emotions
That I never show

They don't know me
Like they say they do
One wrong move
And they will know the truth

I can't achieve higher than expected
Or they might get suspicious
I am ordinary, part of a cliché
Peer pressure made me this way

Caked in make-up, with a high pitch laugh
This is the person they see
This person is not me.

"I'm carrying you to the clinic."

In the clinic you told me
As you handed me your own knee brace
"You're not going to march tomorrow."

The first time you ran away
I cried
Because it happened before
And I wasn't there
At your side

The first time I remembered my past
I cried
Because you hadn't been there
Through all the pain and tears
I was alone...

The first time they told me
I cried
Because the future was mine
With everything I would become
I thought I couldn't ask for anything more

The first time I held your hand
I cried
For your suffering
And your strength
The strength I'd need to live

The first time I kissed you
I cried
Because it hit me
The long road ahead
How everything would change

The first time you hugged me
I cried
My tears fell on your shoulder
Because you cared
And I didn't believe you

The first time you said you loved me
I cried
Because I couldn't believe it
That someone so perfect
Could love me back

The first time I saw you smile
I cried
Because it overwhelmed me
Then I blushed
And turned away

The first time I looked into your eyes

So deep and incredible
