Overwhelmed

Confusion and chaos
Surrounding the storm
Everything hopeless
Escape, nevermore.

Screeches and roaring
Erupt through the sky
The fiery columns
With nowhere to hide.

The shadowy silence
The thundering rain
The lightning that shatters
The darkness
And pain.

Help in the stormYou can talk to me...
I am always here...
Words so deeply meant
By hearts genuine and dear

They echo from a distance
A place we cannot reach
We've fallen to our knees
And these walls we cannot breach

Our worlds have slowly crumbled
The lives we knew have gone
And now the darkness gathers
Everything just seems so wrong

Well meant the voice that utters
"I know that you are strong"
Words meant to be a lifeline
To a place we feel we don't belong

Yet we are not alone
In this storm of breaking hearts
Others worlds are crumbling
And they know our pain in part

In this storm tossed sea
Our hands with theirs may link
Sad but true

I wish I didn'tI look and see you broken
Tears rolling in despair
I'm trying hard to reach you
Because I really care

I know the tribulations
Every pain and every hurt
All the ones that wounded you
And left you lying in the dirt

I watched your big heart breaking
The light dying in your eyes
The way you pushed your friends away
The agony hidden in your sighs

I've watched you trying to heal
Grasp hope and try and mend
I fear that you're not strong enough
That iron will it starts to bend

I look and see you broken
A shadow of yourself
How I hate you mirror
Propped up on that shelf...

My home...Part of me is broken
Though I struggle to be whole

Words that echo in my soul

I not sure that I can heal
Many are the stabbing wounds
That cause the pain I feel

An orchestra of sadness
In which I play my part

Perfect Illusion

To me, you're everything;
My perfect illusion.
And yet, that very flawlessness
triggers my confusion.

My own conscience hides
emotions from myself,
Creating a desire to leave this story
on a dusty shelf.

And though I've answered your question
With matching desire,
I fear it is still possible
That I be accused a liar.

Not designed.
Let emotions take over your mind,
You won't find love when confined.

Make it an adventure,
Stop worrying about the future.
Live to make mistakes and failure,
It'll only make love so much sweeter.

The possibilities are always endless,
Never say its hopeless.
Don't be afraid to scream and confess,
Express you're obsessed with finding success to suppress the distress.

Love is to suffer,
Not because it is torture.
It is because we suffer to find love and be together,
So we could heal our hearts with each other.

My darlingI know it's tiring,
finding the strength to breathe.
But I pleade to you
don't let go.

I know what it's like,
to want to end everything.
I still hear the screaming;
the unforgettable need
to touch a blade to my skin.

You will be great
because it does get better.

But if you're boarding the train
that never returns
I don't know if I could forgive you.

I Need to Cling to SomethingI am the boy with the murderous desire,
And the thorn lodged firmly in his side,
Look deep into my deadened eyes,
Can't you see the tangled web?
Of half-truths and lonely lies,
Buried, rigid, unmoving, in those eyes…

My mistakes aren't going anywhere,
"I can't put them aside – I don't dare!
I'm still here – still alive – I know it's not fair!"
But how can you say to me: "You don't care!"

Old PoetryI'm looking through old poetry
Of the days I wanted to be strong
And the times I loved you
And the times I loved him.
And I know that I love you both, as my friends.
And I'm seeing all the things I wrote, just to try and feel okay
And this is just another piece, of things I cannot truly say
I love you all so very much, and I'm trying oh so hard
To be the person you need me to be,
And to be what I need, for myself.
So I looked through that old poetry, and it reminded me of life before
And I remembered even further back, when I was so alive
And I can see what I can be, I want it so very much.

Want to be HappyYou want to be happy
Want to smile again
Don't see how it can be
That you only feel pain
And now the question's existing
Getting longer with time
And you can't avoid this thing
Can't colour outside the lines

You smile on the outside
Whilst you're crying within
Wishing you had tried
Thinking what could have been

What a dark way to live

Sing me lullabiesI miss the lullaby
your heart used to sing to me,
lying my head on your chest
listening to your heartbeat
as I fall asleep
was music to my ears.

And not even the louder
thunder of this rain of pain
that's where my soul
used to be for so long,
not even that could wake me up.

(I thought my soul and my heart
could actually get along
but they never seem to work things out)

Can you live with a feeling heart
and have no soul?
because I've never felt
I missed it
it's like you had always been
my missing soul.

The pain
It's twisting me
The dryness of my lips catching on my teeth
My throbbing heart crunches inside my chest
Pressure clenching and squeezing my skull
My body convulsing
But no one can help me.

There's rust inside my muscles
With every motion it scrapes
And the flesh slowly rips
The scent of thickened blood in the air
It hits me as I gasp for breath
I'm hacking and frothing
But no one can help me.

I lie unmoving
But the pain doesn't stop
Embers singeing bare skin
Needles stabbing deep into my eyes
Dark tears etch cuts on my face
The electric shock
And I cry out in agony
But no one can help me.

This piece tells of quite a lot of emotion! Your ideas here are quite good. The doubtful and questioning tones of this piece are expressed very clearly. Your introduction was well composed as well, since it sets a mood that many readers can relate to.

My only suggestion would be to make the 15 as a written out "fifteen."

It gives the piece a more eloquent and professional feeling.

Keep up the good work!
